The 758 Switch was the central hub in Vietnam for all KY-3 and
KG-13 linked ciphony transmissions. The switch was located in Saigon at Tan Son
Nhut Airport between the AF MARS station and the Heliport. The front part was
the electronic switch equipment that routed calls from all over Vietnam to
anywhere in the world. The back section was where all the "top secret" equipment
was located and there were typically 4 technicians back there changing cards and
troubleshooting equipment. We were capable of depot maintenance in the back and
often spent our time troubleshooting and repairing the equipment down to the to
the component level. The photo of this equipment is on a nearby page. Click here
to view the KG-13 and KY-3 equipment
Here are some of the photos of the 758 switch.

758 switch with old style burlap bags . They rotted away in about 2-3 months and had to be constantly replaced. Later we got in plastic style bags which lasted a lot longer |
